Stranglethorn

The stranglethorn is a strange plantlike organism that is able to relocate itself on its long tendrils. The Stranglethorn is carnivorous in nature, and usually preys upon small animals which it ambushes and strangles with its thorned stem. Roots burry themselves deep within the victims body, sucking out all the vital juices. The lifeless husk itself is then used as bait for other creatures. Next to bodily fluids, the Stranglethorn needs lots of sunlight to recover from its nightly hunt. In the spring and summermonths, they sprout small red flowers that smell like rotting flesh.

Due to their weak, plantlike physique, the regular Stranglethorns pose no serious threat to humanoids. Allthough there have been rumors of larger variations that prey on Asgardian Stag s, Wild Boars and other large creatures.
